Megan Shannon is a desk assistant at NBC News, currently supporting the Washington bureau’s work to bring reporting from our nation’s capital to NBC platforms. She has assisted in coverage of the 60th presidential inauguration, the 75th NATO Summit, Supreme Court decision days, political campaigns and White House events with producers & crews from the field and newsroom. Most recently, Megan has worked closely with the NBC White House Unit, as well as, the Political Desk during the 2024 presidential election.

Megan is an aspiring journalist who is passionate about fact-based reporting, human-centered storytelling and finding innovative ways to bring the latest news to viewers in an evolving media landscape.
